Metal zippers on clothing are used every day. Scientific use will extend their service life. Here is how to use and protect metal zippers on clothing. When pulling a metal zipper, you must first bring the teeth on both sides close together and align the tops. Then pinch the metal zipper head and gently pull it along the track. Do not pull it too hard. When moving the metal zipper head, be careful not to twist debris such as the lapels or fabric edges into the metal zipper to avoid "crooked teeth", "broken belly", "loose teeth" and other phenomena. If the metal zipper is astringent and difficult to pull, do not pull it hard. You can apply some wax or soap on the metal zipper and it will be pulled.

There are basically three types of metal zippers: metal, nylon and plastic metal zippers. For aluminum alloy or copper metal zippers, be careful not to get wet and not come into contact with alkaline and acidic substances during use and storage to prevent the metal teeth from getting wet, oxidized and corroded. For nylon and injection-molded metal zippers, pay attention to high temperature protection to avoid deformation. Because their wear resistance, hardness, and strength are not as good as metal zippers, they must be used more carefully than metal zippers, and the teeth must be pulled gently.

In addition, there are several ways to prevent metal zippers from changing color:

a. When metal zippers made of copper alloy (nickel-nickel, copper, brass) are used on metal products or wool products, some of the teeth of the metal zippers will turn black due to metal oxidation. This is because the leather tanning agent used to make leather and the bleaching agent used to process wool products will remain on the product during the processing process, and the gas from the products will cause the metal zipper to change color.

b. The rubber band itself contains sulfide. When the rubber band is used to bind the metal zipper, the metal chain teeth will undergo vulcanization (turn black).

c. Although the metal zipper head has been treated with rust prevention in advance, oxidation is a property of metal. In order to reduce discoloration and surface scratches, please wrap the metal zipper head with copy paper.

If a metal zipper breaks down during use, it must be repaired in time. If a metal zipper has "loose teeth" or "skewed" phenomena, the bad teeth can be removed and new teeth can be added, and it can still be used; when the metal zipper head is pulled up, the teeth on both sides do not close together, which means that the metal zipper head is worn and loose. You can use ordinary pliers to gently clamp the closed end of the metal zipper head horizontally, and the metal zipper will immediately become good, and the teeth on both sides will close tightly and no longer loosen or crack.

If the metal zipper head cannot be pulled, it means that the clamps are too forceful and must be readjusted; some metal zippers have teeth missing at both ends, so you can separate the missing parts, move the metal zipper head inward, and fix the end with needle and thread so that it can continue to be used; if the teeth and the metal zipper head of the metal zipper are not made of metal, they generally cannot be repaired if they are broken and you have to replace them.

Matters needing attention in continuous dyeing of ribbons

1. Factors of ribbon blanks: First of all, we should pay attention to whether the yarn used in the ribbon blanks is from the same batch, because the "oil" contained in different batches of yarn is different. If it is blended, it will become a factor of the color in the dyeing process; secondly, whether the blank has been pre-treated. The dyeing effect of the refined blank is very good, because the "oil" on the yarn is removed after treatment, and the dye can be directly in contact with the fiber for dyeing without protection.
