Buttons are a daily clothing item that humans often keep. The use of buttons has a history of more than 6,000 years. As early as 4,000 years ago, the Persians, the ancestors of Iran, had already made buttons out of stones. In the Zhou Dynasty, my country began to adopt the upper garment and lower garment system, and both men and women wore two pieces of clothing, upper garment and lower garment. There were officials in the court who were responsible for making formal clothes. Civil and military officials had to wear formal clothes when they performed grand ceremonies. At that time, the use of clothing was relatively standardized, and the clothing system was quite complete. The word "niu" appeared in books such as "Zhou Li" and "Li Ji" that reflected the etiquette of the Zhou Dynasty. "Niu" is a knot that is intertwined with each other, that is, a knot. According to the Western Zhou bronze intaglio buttons I collected and archaeological discoveries in my country, buttons were used in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Among the Warring States artifacts unearthed in Shizhaishan, Jinning, Yunnan, there were round, oval, animal head-shaped and irregular buttons made of blue, apple green and light gray turquoise. Each button has one or two small holes.

Some are engraved with patterns, unique shapes, colorful, and have a wonderful wax luster. Among the button collections, there are still simple buttons made of small stones, shells, animal horns, walnuts, and coconut shells. This shows that our Chinese nation had already used buttons in the Zhou Dynasty and the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period. The pattern shown on the haniwa made of human images in the middle of the Kofun period unearthed in Japan shows that men's clothing is composed of a top and a skirt. The top is a narrow-sleeved top, and the front of the chest is connected by buttons. It can be seen that the Japanese have used buttons before the Kofun period. In the 16th century, the Chinese brought buttons to Europe. At that time, only men used them, and there were fewer female users. Most people just used them as clothing. In order to show their wealth, some dignitaries used precious materials such as precious gold, silver, pearls, gems, diamonds, rhinoceros horns, antelope horns, and ivory to make buttons for use. There is a record that King Louis XIV of France used 13,000 precious buttons to inlay a royal robe. Among my collections are precious buttons made of precious ox horns, antelope horns, ivory, gold and silver.

The meaning of the second button

This is a legend from Japan. The second button is a good gift for lovers. The second button is above the heart and is given to the person you love. That is, it is given to the person you like. Because the second button is closer to the heart, the second button relatively represents the heart!
Origin

In the history of clothing development in my country, buttons appeared very early. In the Tang Dynasty, button loops were widely used, and three pairs were generally used. This was the origin of the use of buttons on clothes. After the Tang Dynasty, there were more shapes of buttons. In the Ming Dynasty, women mainly used metal buttons. After the Qing Dynasty, buttons became the main fastener on clothes.

Differentiate materials

Button materials are roughly divided into plastic (resin, plastic), metal buttons (copper, iron, alloy), natural (shell, wood, coconut shell, bamboo). The craftsmanship of making buttons from various materials is different. Some buttons look the same, and even people in the industry may not be able to tell them apart with their eyes, so they need to be destroyed and the outer clothes scraped off to tell them apart.

Buttons are divided into plastic buttons and resin buttons. Plastic buttons (including various plastics) are generally die-cast, so there is a line on the edge of the button, this is the mold line. Some factories may remove this line in subsequent processing, but it is lighter than resin (of course some special plastics are heavier). Resin buttons are mechanically carved and then polished, so there is no full mold line on the surface, which is very smooth. However, it is fragile, the surface is easily scratched, and it will become soft when placed in boiling water.

How to distinguish copper buttons from iron buttons? : You can tell the difference between copper and iron buttons by using a magnet. You can also use a hard object to scrape off the electroplated layer on the surface. The copper button is brass (gold) in color. The iron button is black, which is the color of the raw material.

How to determine whether it is an alloy button? : Alloy buttons are heavier and are die-cast. All mold lines are usually ground and polished, so they may not be visible, but they are very heavy and solid.

Matters needing attention in continuous dyeing of ribbons

1. Factors of ribbon blanks: First of all, we should pay attention to whether the yarn used in the ribbon blanks is from the same batch, because the "oil" contained in different batches of yarn is different. If it is blended, it will become a factor of the color in the dyeing process; secondly, whether the blank has been pre-treated. The dyeing effect of the refined blank is very good, because the "oil" on the yarn is removed after treatment, and the dye can be directly in contact with the fiber for dyeing without protection.
