Before installing the zipper, it is best to iron some adhesive interlining on the zipper installation area, especially when sewing lightweight or unstable fabrics. Using a thinner adhesive interlining about 1 inch wide and the same length as the zipper mouth will greatly help the effect and appearance of sewing the zipper.
1. "Overlapping" zipper sewing method:
Add a 5/8" seam allowance to the garment piece, sew the zipper opening with false thread, iron the seam open, and place the closed zipper on the reverse side of the garment piece with the front side facing the seam, so that the edge of the fabric on the right side of the zipper is aligned with the edge of the seam of the garment piece. Use a 1/4" seam allowance to secure the zipper fabric and the seam of the garment piece, being very careful not to catch the garment piece, then flip the zipper over to the front, close the other side of the zipper along the false seam or as close to the false seam as possible, then open the fabric so that the garment piece is facing up, sew a 3/8" wide visible thread from the bottom front of the zipper to the top, and then remove the false seam.
2. "Invisible" method of sewing zippers:
The invisible zipper is an easy and quick way to install a zipper, because it does not require false stitching and front stitching. Using the invisible zipper presser foot, it can stitch the stitches as close to the zipper teeth as possible, so that the zipper looks like it has "disappeared" in the garment when viewed from the front.
3. "Center-seam" zipper sewing method:
Sewing the seams of the clothes, ironing the seams, first sew the zipper's edge to the seams of the garment, then sew the visible stitches on the front of the clothes, sewing to the appropriate position. It should be smooth, and the edges should not be arched. When using a single-sided presser foot, the sewing should be done from the bottom to the top. Using a zipper presser foot can make the sewing closer to the zipper teeth, with a line spacing of 3/8 inches. Before sewing the visible stitches, you can use drawing powder to draw a 3/8-inch seam position on the front of the garment. After sewing the visible stitches, remove the false stitches at the zipper mouth, and then you can open the zipper.
Matters needing attention in continuous dyeing of ribbons

1. Factors of ribbon blanks: First of all, we should pay attention to whether the yarn used in the ribbon blanks is from the same batch, because the "oil" contained in different batches of yarn is different. If it is blended, it will become a factor of the color in the dyeing process; secondly, whether the blank has been pre-treated. The dyeing effect of the refined blank is very good, because the "oil" on the yarn is removed after treatment, and the dye can be directly in contact with the fiber for dyeing without protection.
